What's New...

Check back often for the new happenings at Birch Run Golf Club...

We would like to thank all of you who have purchased a membership. You will find enclosed a few small gifts. We hope that you know how important you are to our business.

Our focus this year will be grass, grass and grass. The new tee boxes on #8 got a great start and we plan on opening them up for the Fourth of July weekend. The construction and grow in of the new black tee has been started and should be open late in the season. Along with the tee boxes a new fairway around #8 green will be grown in as soon as the weather permits. A lot of trees were taken down along the creek on #7 to promote healthier turf and to provide better views of the golf course. For the first time ever the fairways were core aerated and over seeded. This will provide for healthier turf in the coming years. We plan on continuing to make improvements to the course. Our commitment to the 2010 season has never been stronger.

With all of the improvements done to the course the past few years we recognize that play has increased significantly. We would really appreciate if everyone checks in at the counter before their round this year to help us track the number of rounds being played. This will help us control the play on the course a little bit better.

One last thought I would like to leave you with, we have now raised $3051 at the Birch Run Open. This money has been set aside for the Birch Run Scholarship Fund. Our goal is to give two $500 Scholarships every year to a member’s child or a member’s grandchild. We feel we need to have about $5000 set aside so that the fund with help will sustain itself. We will be raising money again this year so hopefully we can reach our goal quickly.

I would encourage and enjoy if anybody has any comments or concerns or would just like to make a helpful suggestion please do not hesitate to email me at birchruntom@woh.rr.com Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you this upcoming golf season.

Thank you,
Birch Run Staff
